Prior to the emergence of plastic bags, individuals commonly resorted to baskets, koffas, and fabric bags when shopping. However, nowadays, an estimated one billion plastic bags are used on a daily basis in Tunisia, likely due to their convenience.
We'd like to reduce, even eliminate, your impact on this excessive consumption. To do this, you will need the following:
- A big basket or koffa to gather all your shopping
- Fabric bags for weighing and sorting fruits and vegetables
- Reusable food boxes (at least three small, three medium and three large) to buy foods such as ham, cheese or olives that are sold wholesale, or to store food at home as an alternative to aluminum foil or plastic film
